Child Birth Education Class

Come and prepare yourself for the journey from the third trimester through the early days of parenting! This class is designed to provide hands-on learning, lecture-based knowledge sharing, and a village of support for expectant parents through pregnancy and beyond!  Partners and Support persons are encouraged and welcomed.

Topics Covered

This class will teach the importance of nutrition and stress management during pregnancy, the stages of labor, comfort techniques for labor, postpartum and newborn care, and much more! Handouts and access to birth professionals are included with this 6-week course.

SEMI Breastfeeding Education Class:

​This class will  teach the basics, essentials and answer all your questions about the basics and intricacies of human lactation from start to finish! Join this community of learners if you want to learn more about how breastfeeding works, how to support its success and how to troubleshoot your concerns!  Led by experienced lactation professionals; you will be able to add these important learnings to your parenting or birthworking toolbox! This class is FREE to attend.

Mamas in Motion Fitness Group:
 

These 6-week workshop series are designed to empower expectant and new parents through movement, education, and community. This collaboration between The Village Personal Training & Wellness, Birth Detroit, and Pelvic Noire offers a holistic approach to navigating the 2nd and 3rd trimesters of pregnancy and the early months of postpartum better known as the 4th trimester.

If you're looking to build strength, improve mobility, and prepare for a smoother postpartum recovery while connecting with others on the same journey, this series is FOR YOU!

Get At Me Dad hosts 

Out of the Cave: A Fatherhood Support Group 

This FREE virtual and in-person support group is facilitated and designed to build community and connection for fathers. This judgment-free zone equips any father who wants to feel heard, affirmed, and celebrated.  If you're expecting your first baby or celebrating your college grad, this group is dedicated to you.   
 

These monthly group chop sessions with a therapist are designed to support fathers with tips and coping tools as they navigate parenting, relationships, and more while maintaining a healthy mental space. We are to help men and fathers come out of the mind cave we sometimes find ourselves in.
